One of the simplest and most powerful practices for empaths is zipping up your energetic field. This helps you hold your own emotional experience without absorbing what’s not yours. Start at your pubic bone, make a zipping motion over the top of your head, and do it three times. You’ll still be aware of other people’s emotions—but you won’t carry them.

2. Define Your Standards Before You Set Boundaries

Most boundary struggles aren’t about other people—they’re about our own clarity. Without standards, boundaries feel fuzzy. That’s why I recommend journaling your personal standards in key areas: how you want your home to feel, how you want to be treated, how you dress, eat, move, and lead. Once you know your standards, boundaries become self-respect in action.

3. Discover Your Deal Breakers and Desires—And Go Deeper

It’s not enough to know what you want. You have to know why. I share a practice called the “5 Levels of Why” to help you go deeper. Whether it’s a desire for travel or a deal breaker like smoking, understanding the root gives you confidence and clarity to speak your truth—without guilt or apology.

4. Start with Two Small Daily Actions

If you’re ready to feel less overwhelmed and more empowered, start with these two daily habits:

  • Zip up your energy every morning.

  • Track your energy throughout the day.

These simple actions give you data, awareness, and self-trust.
