Brenda Winkle 00:01:16 Welcome to your yes filled life. Hello and welcome to your yes filled life. I'm your host, Brenda Winkle psychic medium, intuitive guide, trauma informed breathwork facilitator, and somatic coach Reiki Master teacher. And I'm so excited that you're here today on the podcast. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is, how can I trust my intuition? How do I know it's my intuition? How do I differentiate intuition from picking up something from someone else? Or maybe it's in my imagination, or it's even a daydream. So I can't wait to unpack all of this. And today we're going to be really talking about the reason that your intuition feels confusing sometimes. And here's what I want to tell you right before we even start. It's not because it's not working. It's because no one taught you it could come in in the way it's coming in for you. No one taught you what to trust or how gifted you actually are. So my intention for you in this episode is to open up some curiosity around how your gifts might be showing up for you in ways that aren't what you see in the movies, that aren't what you see on TV, that aren't coming through the way that they might come through.
Brenda Winkle 00:02:36 For people like Tyler Henry or Theresa Caputo. Maybe they come in differently for you. And I also want you to feel inspired and empowered to start to experiment and play around with some of your gifts so that you can really learn to trust them. So you're probably sensing more than you realize, and you're probably picking up information and data all around you all the time, and you may or may not be aware of it. And more than likely, you've been doing it your whole life in some way, whether or not you did it with intention or not, you just didn't realize that's what was happening. That was absolutely true for me. I remember people watching as a kid, and I would people watch with my family, and I thought I was like daydreaming or using my imagination. As people would walk by, I would tell what their families were like, where they lived, where they were going, something about them. And I thought at the time, I just had a really fast, quick imagination.
Brenda Winkle 00:03:48 And then I was making up stories on the fly. That's what I thought. And that went on until I realized I can't remember exactly what happened. But I remember the feeling stayed of it. I remember that we started a conversation with one of the people that had walked by, and turns out I wasn't making it up. I was tracking it. I was using my intuitive gifts to feel and sense and know things about people in my people watching. It was never in my imagination. I was never telling a story. I was actually tracking with my intuition what was happening with people. And that was also pre discernment. So that's not really ethical for us to do when we're like just tracking people all the time. It's a little bit like being a peeping Tom energetically. And so I didn't know that at the time. And now I do, which is why I'm mentioning it, because we do want people's permission before we track their energy, unless we're tracking just really high level. How are you feeling today? Are you okay? Kind of energy as we tap in with our clients, our patients, our friends, our students, our families.
Brenda Winkle 00:04:59 So let me give you some other examples that maybe you have more intuitive access than your thinking. So we talk often about the six Claires. Those are your five senses plus knowing. So that would be seeing clairvoyance hearing Clare audience tasting Clare Augustine's smelling Clare olfactory knowing Clare cognizance feeling Clare. Sentience. We talk about those all the time, but we don't really explain what that means. And if we're to believe what is shown to us in the movies, we think it's like, do you remember the the movie or the not the movie, this show. Charmed. Do you remember how Phoebe used to have those visions? And she'd stop and she'd freeze, and then there'd be like, this little clip that would play of her vision, whatever it was. We think that clairvoyance is like that, where there'll be a little movie that plays in your mind, or maybe in front of your eyes. And a lot of times we think that we can't be clairvoyant if we're not seeing things in the physical, like if we're not seeing somebody or the vision standing like across from me right now, that if I'm not seeing that with my eyeballs that I'm not actually clairvoyant.
Brenda Winkle 00:06:19 Well, that's not true. Clairvoyance comes in in a lot of different ways. For some people, it comes in where people do see the actual visions as though it's a movie screen. But for the vast majority of people, that's not how it works for the vast majority of people. Clairvoyance comes in, in your mind's eye, where you're seeing an image or a scene or an object or a person, and it's in your mind's eye that actually counts as clairvoyance. Now, my bet is you're probably like, wait, what? What? And the other senses can work that way as well. Can it be that you can literally taste on your tongue different flavors? If you have Claire existence? Yes, it could be. It's more likely it's like such a strong visceral memory that you can feel sense and and taste, but it's not the same thing as on your physical tongue. Same thing with Claire. Audience. It might be that you actually hear voices or that you get messages through music. It could be that.
Brenda Winkle 00:07:26 It could also be that you get messages, fully formed messages, and you can tell that it has something to do with your ears because of where it comes in. And the same thing is true with Claire sentience. It might be that you actually feel something touching your skin. Maybe. Or maybe it's a feeling in your body, and maybe that feeling in your body relates directly to the thing that you're sensing, and maybe it doesn't. Like, for example, maybe it is a specific pain in your hip that is coming up when you talk to a certain person, and then you find out later that they have something going on with their hip. That can be a form of sentence that can also be one of the empath tracks. So there's a little bit of gray overlap area there. But the reason I'm mentioning this to you is because you probably are using your gifts more than you think you are, and you have more gifts than you think you have. You just don't know it. So today I'm recording this on Thursday, December 11th, and I was a guest on a podcast called, what was it called? I think it was called Understand Your Mind or something like that.
Brenda Winkle 00:08:41 It was with Shane Williams, and I'll share this with my email list, and I'll probably post it on social media too, if he gives me assets. But it was a really fascinating conversation because Shane has a condition called Avantasia, and Avantasia is where someone is unable to visualize something unless there's an object right beside them, or they're looking at it with their eyeballs. And so Shane was asking me questions in the course of the interview and was asking me about, could he possibly have other types of spiritual gifts if he couldn't visualize things? And my answer was absolutely yes, yes, yes, yes, of course, because the clairvoyance, the the seeing is only one of many potential gifts because we have multiple empath tracks too. We have the animal, the plant, the physical, the emotional, the medical and the land. Empath tracks where all of those things can bring in intuitive information for people. So as we were talking, Shane was telling me that he felt like he didn't have any body sensations.
Brenda Winkle 00:09:49 His exact words were I can't feel things. He doesn't identify as being really affected by emotions, and he doesn't feel things in his body. But when we dug in a little bit deeper, in fact, we did a little somatic demo. When we dug in a little bit deeper, he can absolutely feel sensation, like if he rubs his fingers together in his hands, like right in front of his chest, he could feel that. And that created an unlocking for him when he was realizing, oh, I, I do, I do feel I just can't remember what it's like if I'm not actively doing it. Okay, well, now we're getting somewhere. So then I started asking questions like, what is happening? When you notice you have the most feeling? And he calls something his I think he called it his wander ponder. And he goes to the park and he sits in the park and he's just in nature. He's looking at nature. He's noticing the sights, the smells, the the sounds in nature as he's there and he's walking until he, you know, decides to sit down.
Brenda Winkle 00:10:57 And we realize in the course of this conversation, on this podcast interview with Shane, that his intuitive access comes from being in nature. So he has those really strong plant and animal and land empath abilities, and he's been telling himself for all these years that he didn't have intuitive abilities because of his Avantasia. When come to find out, he does have intuitive abilities, they just don't include visualization. And I loved this conversation. I can't wait to share it with you when when Shane publishes it. And the reason I loved it is because this is how it works with our intuitive gifts. So many times we think that because our intuitive gift doesn't look exactly like someone else's, that we know that it must not count. And that is just not true. So you have gifts. If you can read a room and you can know who's feeling regulated or dysregulated in a room. You have gifts. If you can sense or feel what someone else might be sensing or feeling, or if you hear things or you have fully formed sentences appear in your mind, or you just get sudden knowingness.
Brenda Winkle 00:12:12 Those are all your spiritual gifts coming online. And the truth is, that doesn't make you weird. That doesn't make you too much. It doesn't make you odd. It doesn't make you dramatic. It doesn't make you imagining things. It makes you intuitive. And you don't have to look very far to realize. People flock around the intuitive who have stepped into the spotlight, like Laura Lynne Jackson or Tyler Henry or Theresa Caputo, because they're fascinated by it. And the people that are most fascinated by other intuitive are the people who have intuitive gifts. So if you're still listening, that's you. That's you. So when we start to unpack our own gifts, It allows us to help other people unpack their gifts, and a lot of times this comes through body based modalities called semantics. So that X is based on the root word soma, which means body, and whether or not you identify as having sentience or the physical empath tract. Oftentimes, the body is the unlock. We hold so much wisdom in our body.
Brenda Winkle 00:13:31 Think about how many nerve endings are on your your head from, like the base of your chin to the top of your head. And now compare that to how many nerve endings you have from the top of your neck, down to your feet. If we're only using the brain and the mental field to get information, we're missing out on probably 90% of the other information that's coming in. And so this is a really important identity shift that I would invite you to make right now. You are intuitive. If you're listening to this podcast, if you're curious about this podcast, if you're drawn to me in this podcast, you are intuitive in some way, shape or form, and I want you to remember the story that I opened up with, where I used to think I was imagining things when I people watched, only to find out I was actually using one of my gifts. Most often. The thing that comes so easily for you is the thing that you're like, oh yeah, that's well, that's just what I do.
Brenda Winkle 00:14:34 That's just who I am. No, I mean, yes, it is who you are, but that's also your gift. Just because it comes easily to you does not mean it's not a valid and valuable gift. Okay. Invitation to step into that. So these are the three most common spiritual gifts that I see people having. That they don't know that they necessarily have. So this would be the clear cognizance that knowing. That just arrives. That's the certainty that an appointment is not going to hold, or that's the certainty that you really have to go. On this street instead of that street. And then you find out there was a major traffic pileup. This is often dismissed as well. I'm probably wrong, or I'm probably making it up or something like that. So if that sounds like you at all, this is, by the way, super quick and dirty, like really fast action. about describing these, of course, we're going to go much more in depth in the intuitive Somatic Healing certification, but this is just giving you an idea of the ways that you probably are already accessing your intuitive gifts.
Brenda Winkle 00:15:48 Claire, sentience is this feeling. Now, a lot of times when I talk to people, they first of all have never heard of Claire sentience. I think that's the most common thing. And then when I say it's the feeling, they're like, oh, I don't. That's not me. I don't feel that. Well, if you can feel the field change, like, for example, you walk from one room into the next and you can feel that energy difference. That's part of clear sentience. This can also be that you get a body based sensation when something happens. Maybe it's a flash from your belly of fear when a certain person comes under the elevator with you. If that's ever happened to you, that is part of your Claire sentience going off. I know that's for sure happened to me. Or suddenly you feel heaviness, or suddenly you feel really, really light. These are all ways that your Claire sentence might be showing up for you. And clairvoyance is also one of the most common ways that information comes through to people.
Brenda Winkle 00:16:50 And I want to highlight, again, this doesn't come through for most people, like a vision or a movie playing in their head. It comes through with symbols or colors or scenes or flashes or seeing like one quick image or quick scene. Oftentimes this is also dismissed as imagination. So if you have ever written off any of these things as random or irrelevant, you're not alone. For most of us that have these gifts, our gifts grew up unstructured, not supported. It was certainly something I was not encouraged to talk about. And my bet is that that was true for you too. I think now it's more common for us to talk about these types of things in the public. But at the time I was growing up, this was like something you didn't talk about. It was something that was like scary or bad and and, yeah, definitely weird. I'll just say it. And now I think it's so much more normal. Now, of course, I have to admit it's normal because I'm in this world and so I feel it is normal.
Brenda Winkle 00:18:02 You may not feel that way if this is your first, information. The first time you've ever heard about these things, you may still feel a little bit like, I don't know. This feels away. And so that's okay too. There's space for that here. But this is also why it's being it's been difficult for you to really trust your intuition when you can start to unpack how your intuition is speaking to you or showing up for you, all of a sudden things begin to unlock. And the more information that is unlocked through your intuition, the more you can trust it. So there are three reasons why practitioners don't trust their intuition. One is that you are trained in frameworks and templates from other people that did not include intuition. They didn't open that up. They never said, okay, here's the framework. Now go trust your intuition. They teach modalities and scripts and sequences. But here's the thing. Your intuition is essential because your intuition is the one that's in real time interacting with that other person or those other people across from you.
Brenda Winkle 00:19:15 Your intuition is feeling and sensing what's happening right now, and that may or may not be represented in the structure or the template that you've been using. The second reason why practitioners don't trust their intuition is you've probably been taught that imagination equals inaccuracy, or like you're making it up or it's just make believe. Well, the intuitive data that arrives is often arriving symbolically, and it's a lot about learning to understand the language around your own intuition. I know that for me, the more intuitive work I do, the more sessions I hold psychic and mediumship sessions. The more I'm developing my own dictionary so that when I see a specific image, I know what it means. And so you'll hear people talk about this too. If you if you're following psychics or mediums or intuitively on TikTok or Instagram, they will say things like, well, I saw the image of the whale and this means going deep and so on and so forth. That's their unique dictionary. Maybe that's going to be how yours comes in, but more than likely, you're going to need to spend some time understanding and practicing and iterating to know how does that information come through for you.
Brenda Winkle 00:20:35 And the third reason why most practitioners don't trust their intuition is you're afraid. You're afraid of overstepping, overstepping, overstepping. You're afraid of projecting or doing harm. Now, here's the thing I really want to emphasize being afraid of doing harm is not insecurity. That is actually a commitment to ethical practices where you're holding the art with high integrity and ethical practitioners make the best intuitive practitioners. And this is a big part of what I'm grounding into the intuitive Somatic Healer certification. We're going to be talking about these ethics. We're going to be talking about how do our own implicit biases affect how we're showing up and how we're working with our clients. So what happens when you start to trust what you're sensing is your sessions get clearer. You'll actually notice that information just flows to you in a much easier way. You'll also notice that when you're really tapped into your own intuition, however that's coming in from you, you will stop eating as much and your sessions won't take as much out of you. You'll have things left over at the end.
Brenda Winkle 00:21:53 You also stop overriding that inner voice, which not only affects how you're showing up with clients, but it's going to affect your personal life when you stop overriding that inner vision or that inner voice. It's just like, listen to my voice. My throat chakra is having a little reaction to this. When you stop overwriting your inner voice, you unlock the life that you really want to live. You also learn how to stabilize and regulate your nervous system. And when you come in. Excuse me? When you come into any session with a stabilized, grounded, and regulated nervous system. You're able to access that intuition so much more deeply because you're not fighting yourself. And the byproduct of all of this is clients drop in faster, they stay longer because the breakthroughs and transformations for them happen in less time. You feel more like you and you stop contorting yourself to fit someone else's method. So chances are you don't need new modalities. I mean, maybe you do, but probably you don't. You probably need a new method of learning to trust your intuition within the structures, frameworks, and modalities that you're already using.
Brenda Winkle 00:23:16 You want a way to structure your gifts, so they already have that way of of groundedness, that way of feeling. I'm centered. I know what to do. I know what to say so that they stop feeling chaotic. And when your sessions don't feel chaotic and they start feeling more precise, you're going to feel differently about hosting them. And then that's when it gets really fun, because your client base begins to grow and word of mouth travels. So I want to give you one body based tool to use this week to activate your own intuition. And the thing that I'm going to ask you to do is anytime you notice the sudden onset of a sensation, a feeling, an emotion, I want you to stop. And I want you to ask before you do anything else. Put your hands on your heart. Maybe one hand on your heart, one hand on your belly, or both hand in on your hearts. Whoops. You know what I mean? Both hands on your heart. And then ask yourself, is this mine? Or am I picking this up from someone else somewhere else in the field? Is this mine or is this coming from the field? That one question is going to change so much for you.
Brenda Winkle 00:24:35 And then when you get the answer, just notice what shifts. Notice if the sensation moves or changes. Notice if it intensifies or if it eases. And then when you when you determine if it's yours, then you'll know what next steps to do because you can ask, what is it that you need? What is this sensation need? What is it that you're asking me to do? And if it's not yours and a question you can ask that would be a follow up is why are you showing me this? Why do I have this feeling, sensation or emotion right now? And this is how you begin to truly trust yourself, not by ignoring what's coming through to you, but by learning to interpret it, by allowing yourself to slow down enough to ask the questions. So if you're listening to this and you're thinking, oh my goodness, this is me. I've been sensing things forever and no one ever explained it like this. That's exactly why I created the Intuitive Somatic Healer certification. This is a structured method to help you unlock and understand your natural spiritual gifts.
Brenda Winkle 00:25:45 It's an ethical sovereignty first intuitive communication method and includes somatic tools for real time transformation not only for you, but for your clients. I'm going to help you learn to read the field without projecting, so you'll know what's yours and what's not. And each week, you're going to have an opportunity to practice so that you'll become embodied with confidence by the time the program ends. This is not a new modality. It's a refinement of everything you already know. Now this is for experienced practitioners, healers, coaches, guides who are ready for deeper breakthroughs. I want you to hear me on this. You are not too much. You are not imagining things. You are not untrained. You are not even unskilled. Your gifts just need a little structure. So your intuition has been speaking to you your whole life. You're not new to this. You're just ready to refine it. And you deserve a method that honors the way your gifts work. If your body is often hearing this, that that's your. Yes.
Brenda Winkle 00:26:54 The link to apply. Well, there's no application for this. The link to enroll is in the show notes or. Yeah, it's in the show notes because I created a Google doc, and I'm not sure if I'm ready to build a sales page for it yet, because I'm still tweaking the Google doc. And the thing I really want you to hear is you're not bad, you're not weak. You might be weird, but it's the cool kind, the really good kind of weird. And you're super intuitive and your next chapter is calling. Thank you so much for listening today. If you enjoyed this, would you please share it with people that you care about? And if you loved it, would you please give the rating or the show a rating and review wherever you're listening?
